Grafting Workshop

$48.00

When: April 6, 2025 from 10am-12:30pm

Location: Dandy Ram Farm, Monroe, ME

Join us for an introduction to the ancient art of grafting! In this workshop, we’ll cover:

  • a brief history of grafting and why we do it (it’s not boring, I promise!)

  • choosing your plant components: the rootstock and scion wood

  • what materials and tools you’ll need and how to source them

  • optimal conditions for a successful graft: timing, genetic compatibility, temperature, etc.

  • how to make proper cuts

  • after-care for a newly grafted tree

  • you’ll get some hands-on practice, and go home with 2 young grafted fruit trees (apple or pear, your choice!)

Grafting is a skill you can continue to hone for a lifetime, and your fruit tree will provide for generations to come, with the right care. We’re looking forward to sharing our knowledge and experience, and we hope to see you there!
